Family Tree Projects

In the class Emerging Technology, we are completing several different projects about our family. In order to get the information that we needed, we interviewed two of our family members. Then we sent an email to another relative. This was usually someone that you didn't have direct contact to, or lived far away. With all of my information gathered, I then proceeded to make a diagram of my family. This showed who everyone was related to, and how they were related to someone. Using the information and my diagram I made three presentations, a prezi, infographic, and a five frame storyboard. The prezi shows fifteen different family members, and what they like to do. My infographic shows where my family originated, where they live now, diseases in the family, an interesting facts. Overall I thought that this project was so much fun to complete because we got to learn about our families.

I agree with this video because people do have smart phones and other electronic devices. I also agree with the fact that everyone is always on those electronic devices and not being out in the real world. They are not experiencing life, other than what they read or see on the internet or social media. I think that people should leave their electronic devices at home when they leave the house, and talk to their friends in person incited of in a group chat. This provides them with more social activity in person instead of on social media. People might lie about how the feel on the internet, but if you are there with them in person then you will actually know what they are feeling. People need to stay of their phones and engage in life with activities and not electronic devices or smart phones.

Read this blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

I think that this teacher really does care about his students because he feels so strongly about how school isn't about academics, its about learning how to deal/live with life. The main event is learning how to live with the harshness of life and problem solve. He thinks yes academics are important but not as important as learning how to problem solve and not letting your judgement get tamed by emotion or friends. I don't really agree with this. I don't agree with this because academics are really important to the world because you learn new tings in school and then put them out into the world. Without academics we wouldn't be as advanced as we are today.

Reflect on your stop-motion animation project. How did it go? What worked? What didn't work? If you're not finished - why? If you are finished go in to detail about the project and what you learned. Give as much detail and information as possible.

I thought my stop-motion animation went well because I had enough pictures to fill the required time, 30 seconds, and I met all the other requirements. Some things that didn't work were some of my pictures. Some of the pictures were blurry, but I didn't cut them out because I liked what was going on in the picture. This might have been a mistake because a couple people commented on a few of my pictures being blurry. From this project I learned how to use movie maker. I have tried to use it in the past, but I had people help me then. Now I know how to do it on my own.

What is your idea for your stop-motion animation? Explain yourself. Have you started taking photos? If not, when do you plan to take your photos? What is your action plan for today? What is your plan to GET SOMETHING DONE?

My idea for my stop-motion animation is taking a chair and moving it around the school with Wynne in it. I'm going to take the chair on an adventure around the school with different people in it. I haven't started taking photos yet, but I will today. My action plan for today is to take my pictures with Ruth and Wynne.

What is stop motion animation? If you don't know, look it up! Explain.

Stop Motion Animation is a technique that makes static objects appear as if they are moving, when they are really not. They are made to look like they are moving by breaking up the figures motion into increments and filming one frame at a time. This process is used in most puppet based animation.
